Dr. John Moser was raised in Huntsville, Alabama, and attended Auburn University, graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. He then went on to complete a rotating medicine and surgery internship in Waltham, Massachusetts, a surgical internship in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a second surgical internship in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Moser then completed a surgical residency in Melbourne, FL. 

In 2019 Dr. Moser moved to the West Coast, where he started a surgical service in Berkeley, California. Finally, after 14 years away, Dr. Moser chose to return home to Alabama and join the Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham.

Dr. Moser has a special interest in thoracic surgery and fracture repair. He has published research on the subject of mechanical screw failure and tracheal collapse repair.

When not working, Dr. Moser enjoys sailing, swimming, and surfing (although this last one has become more difficult to fit into the schedule since moving away from the ocean).
