Dr. Laura Alverson grew up in Pell City, Alabama. She is a 1996 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and a 2001 graduate of Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. 

Dr. Alverson has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine and surgery for 23 years. She lives in Hoover with her husband, cats, dogs, and rabbits, and has five young adult children.

In her spare time, Dr. Alverson loves to travel, participate in runDisney races, and read.
